KG Worx is a small Engineering Consulting and Project management firm offering services that move clients’ ideas into real tangible solutions. We can take projects from the conceptualization stage to mass production ready. Whether it is an existing design that needs updating or an entirely new concept we have the tools and know how to make it a reality. STEVEN KERN - Idea Guy
Born in 1988 in mountains of California, playing outside and using my hands always had me interested in creating things. I began my college career studying Architecture but soon moved into Mechanical Engineering. I received my Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering from Sacramento State University and my Masters of Aeronautical Engineering from UC Davis. After graduating I worked for a small contractor retrofitting pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment to improve efficency and ergonomics. I started working for Carbon in 2016 as a Manufacturing Engineer, then moved to Japan to oversee service of Carbon’s 3D printers. After 8 years with them I decided to look into new Career opportunities and landed on the realization that I would like to get back to my roots of creating things that were once only abstract ideas and such KG Worx was founded. This ideal and my love of the outdoors and adventure sports lead KG Worx to embark on not only its Engineering path but also incorporate Project management, more specifically that of the revitilization of a local resort in Hokkaido.
YOSUKE AKIYAMA - Make it Happen Guy
Born in 1994 in Hokkaido, Japan. I became a professional snowboarder at 17, competing and filming across Japan and abroad. Captivated by the backcountry, I chose the path of a “mountain-based storyteller, ” living in harmony with nature. With deep respect for the power of the natural world, I also engage in environmental efforts. Drawing on 20 years of experience, I produce top-level snow parks and events throughout Japan. Always looking ahead of the curve, I bring one-of-a-kind ideas that redefine the scene.
